Being new to the AK Community I had to just show the WASR 10 I just completed. I spent countless hours on-line looking at every-bodies furniture and realized that I did not want tatical and I really dont care for red or blood red stocks.. The furniture that came on my waser was not very appealing to the eyes and pretty rough. After about a week of stripping, bleaching, sanding and adding 1 coat of water based stain, I began to add green dye to the poly and then began to layer and build it up. After 8 coats, wet sanding and 3 coats of semi-gloss clear, this is what I came up with. Hope some of you enjoy it, some people are devout about utilizing red/blood red finishes and thats great but, I just like a little different twist every-now and then. Should blend in the woods pretty good.

Thanks for all the great info on this site..

Looks great, really cool

One more thing; only if you like: If you could make a high quality photo with a neutral background I'd like to add it to the "Stock Refinishing" article if you don't mind! Let me know either way.

Thanks!

Sure thing Chris, I'm

Sure thing Chris, I'm currently out of town at the moment, as soon as I return, I'll help you out and get you a pic set up... If you need any procedures on that i did to complete the stocks let me know....

Thanks! No hurry of course,

Thanks! No hurry of course, but if you want to contribute a pic that would be great. Also, if you give me a few words on what steps you took to stain it and what materials you used that might be interesting to include as well!

Very Nice!

Wow, right on. That is really unique and it actually looks pretty cool too (which I must admit I had not expected...:) )!

I like it how you can still see the grain of the wood. I have seen some people spray paint it Olive Drab but this is definitely something else. What I also like is that you can see some elbow grease went into this!

I think it looks great it is
