So I would figure that most of you guys are into firearms, well since this is a firearm forum site, but anyways back to the point. Our WASRs dont really conceal well, so what do you guys carry on a everyday basis, which holster do you use?

Personally, I maintain a go big or go home mentality, so i care an Springfield XDS .45 with a versa carry holster. I used several IWB holsters, but the Versa Carry is by far the most comfortable i have ever used. So what do you guys carry?

My EDC piece is a Glock 23 in .40 S&W. Not to big, not to small, just right for me. I like it because it is very close to the .45 ACP but can hold 13 + 1, though I usually load them one down.

I have a leather DeSantis IWB holster for it, but I'm looking to change it for a holster that is a leather-kydex hybrid. I also have a Blackhawk Serpa II which I really like but it is not IWB and much harder to conceal, but it can be done. I use the Serpa II mostly in colder months. I also have a Blade-Tech kydex holster and double mag carrier.

I have an older 1911A1, single stack, that I used to carry when I was a young stud. It's just way to heavy for me to carry now, plus with the Glock 23 and two extra mags I can easily carry 36 rounds of Golden Saber. I have read a caution about the Critical Defense loads, that being that they do not penetrate barriers very well. Over penetration can get you sued, but under penetration can get you killed. I'll take my chances with penetration.

I have a 9mm Wolf barrel and a few 9 mm mags that I used to convert the Glock 23 to 9mm back when there was an ammo shortage. It's nice to have options.

I wouldn't consider any handgun for self defense if it had a grip safety. I had the grip safety on my 1911 pinned many years ago. BTW, do you know why or where the 1911 grip safety came from in the first place? It was added to keep soldiers from shooting their horse in the neck. I don't think that would ever be a problem for me. One out of ten draws would result in a FTF because the 1911 grip safety was not fully depressed which is unacceptable to me. It must go bang every time. I mentioned this fact to a competition shooter a few years ago. He pulled out a $3,000+ "Buck Rogers" custom 45 that he used for competition and it had black electrical tape wrapped around the grip to deactivate the grip safety, so it's not just me that has that problem with it.

What are the rest of you using?

You should not have to wait very long. If a company makes only two holsters, they make them for the Glock and the 1911.

I use a alien gear hybrid for my Taurus pt111 G2 and when I go small with the M&P bodyguard I use a Desantis pocket tuc. Since we're talking about what gun and holster, what ammo are you using for your carry? I currently use Hornady critical defense in 380 and critical duty in my 9mm but always looking for suggestions.

Ever take a close look at brassfetcher.com? The site has changed a bit recently, but they are no nonsense about ammo performance. There are way too many fan boys on the Internet.

I think the same as you! I carry an ATI Tactical 1911 Compact 45. I usually wear a Fobus paddle, but on certain occasions, a leather shoulder holster. I can draw faster with the paddle, but need to work on my draw with the shoulder holster.
The thing about OTW carry is the belt. I'm still searching for a decent, stiff, comfortable belt to switch to a leather holster. The Fobus is marking up my barrel.

I carry a fullsize glock model 22. I use 165 gr. Critical defense rounds. I carry in one of 2 holsters. Either a bladetech or a uncle Mikes pancake 3 slot holster. And when I'm at the range I use my blackhawk! Serpa. I also use the Serpa in the wood for hikes and what have you.
