Almost done....

This my WASR 10/63, it's a on gong project. Future plans are adding LH charging handle to the Parabellum dust cover. I may end up having to make my own. The Linch style is appealing to me, but they say it will not work with a optic mounted, not sure why. I may end up buying one, cutting out the system and putting it on the cover you see here. I plan on putting my extra Aimpoint PRO on as well. I am in the military and my AK is back at home. I have my custom built 5.56 and my LR 308 here with me, both I have built. I will keep this topic updated when I have a chance to, but it will not be until the end of the year before I can start on the charge handle. I really like the looks of the wood on my AK, but had to sacrifice the look for the SF rail. I am currently deciding on going with th ATI 6 position adjustable cheek weld side folding system. With the Aimpoint T-1, it just doesn't feel right getting the correct cheek weld. On the other hand, with the PRO, there may not be enough with the wood stock, hence the adjustable riser of the ATI, time will tell. I do all of my own work, I am a certified armorer for Glock, Hk and SIG, so this is one of my hobbies. Feel free to ask or add comments. The AR in the picture looks nothing like that now, so much has been added and others deleted.

So far mods are;
SureFire front rail system
Ergo Grip
Complete polish on the internals including the bolt and trigger system (very smooth now)
Phantom II flash suppressor
Parabellum rail and dust cover
Relocated the rear sling swivel
Notched the safety for open bolt
Some others as well, just don't remember right now...........

Very nice! I just got a wood furniture AK 47 (WASR-10 of course) and I love the look of the classic wood. Having said that, I can easily see myself getting another WASR-10 and going full on Tacticool on it! That way I can have the best of both worlds. Definitely keep us up to date on the improvements you make over time.

Yeah, AK's are such great

Yeah, AK's are such great hobby objects. You can just keep messing with them without doing anything you can't undo if you change your mind! And to break something you really have to try hard;).

Anyway, that is a bad-ass looking front-end! As you said; that original wood stock will have to go though.:( Its either / or :).
I agree with the idea of having two AK's; one totally old school, with nice finished woodend furniture original sling etc, and have another one totally tacticool.

I like that ATI stock for it.
